Mt. Rokko Area/Ishikirimichi
Bars/Izakaya/Sake breweries
Transferring sake brewed with water from Mt. Rokko into sake barrels, and returning the scraps from the barrels back to Mt. Rokko.
Located in the Mikage area, one of the Nadagogo regions, the Kiku-Masamune Sake Brewery Museum aims to help visitors "understand the roots of sake brewing," continuing to convey its passionate commitment to sake brewing that has remained unchanged since its founding in 1659.
In the sake brewery exhibition room, the "sake brewing tools of Nada," designated as nationally important intangible folk cultural properties, are displayed in the order they are used, allowing visitors to deepen their understanding of sake brewing.
In the merchandise and sake-tasting corner, limited-edition sake and original goods are sold, and there are (paid) sake-tasting sessions and free tasting services, pleasing sake lovers as they enjoy Kiku-Masamune sake. Kiku-Masamune Sake Brewery has a connection with the mountains, not only using water from Mt. Rokko for sake brewing but also engaging in "forest caretaker activities" for the conservation of Mt. Rokko. Additionally, they are committed to the SDGs by scattering the scraps produced during the barrel-making process on mountain trails.
Set this place as the destination of your hike and enjoy sake made with water from Mt. Rokko!
