An Extensive Lineup of Original Mt. Rokko Goods All in One Little Place
Shop 737 is located inside the cable car station atop Mt. Rokko. It gets its name from the elevation: the Rokko Cable Car rises to 737 meters above sea level in its 10-minute, 1.7km journey.
Widely beloved since its opening in 1932, the cable car ascends serenely to the mountaintop station, which is housed in a mid-century “modernist” concrete building with Art Deco elements.
The station was selected as a Kobe Historical Heritage site in the inaugural intake in 2021.
Shop 737 sells a variety of goodies, including Yamamitsu (“mountain honey”) harvested from hives right here on Mt. Rokko, as well as donuts, pies, candies, and beer made with Yamamitsu. Not only are they tasty, but their adorable packaging makes them a popular favorite.
They also have perfectly sized, eco-friendly shopping bags for sale, which come in “retro” green and “classic” blue with a cable car motif.
While you’re here, do not fail to try the sweet, refreshing soda made entirely from natural Mt. Rokko spring water.
