Amid Japan’s winter season, notably in February, it becomes colder and colder as the days go by here in Kobe. And of course, at the peak of Mt. Maya (the altitude is 702m), the temperature is drastically lower compared to the downtown area. It often reaches below 0 (zero) degrees Celsius. However, an amazing view from the top of Mt. Maya, in cold and clear weather, can be completely guaranteed! It’s an absolutely breathtaking sight to see.
Along with the fabulous view, featured in the previous article (part1), there is no doubt that Japanese kotatsu heating tables at CAFE 702 will warm your body and soul. Savoring their Japanese hot pot under the warmth of a kotatsu table is one of the best choices to make during Kobe’s frosty winter. Please check out Part1 →https://kobe-rokko.jp/en/events/242/
Inside the café, you’ll come face to face with a huge bookshelf. This is CAFE 702’s special library with a wide variety of the manager’s very own collection, including Japanese manga comic books. He very carefully selected each of the books one by one and is a book lover himself. It would be a great opportunity for you to take a look at Japanese books while relaxing over fresh hot beverages. As the manager will kindly help you find the best book for you, don’t hesitate to ask him about your favorite genre.
Another alluring charm of the café is its many kinds of analog games (159 kinds as of now) from Japan and all around the globe that you can play. A regular gaming event called “Board Game Club” is held approximately once every two weeks. If you are interested in interacting while playing fun games with other customers, it’s well worth trying! Games for advanced players, as well as for beginners, are ready to play! Please feel free to contact them anytime for more details!
*The number of participants is limited (As first come, first served, reservation is preferred.)
*Participation fee is required (1 event 1,000 yen / 2 events 1,500 yen (the price may be subject to change))
