Origin and History of Futatabi Park and Shiogahara
Futatabi Park and the Mt. Futatabi Permanent Vegetation Preservation Area has been recognized for their contribution to the development of today's park and landscaping culture. In 2006, the site was registered as the first urban park in Japan to be designated as a historic site (related to scenic spots). The following year, it was designated as a national scenic spot together with the Kobe Municipal Foreign Cemetery, which tells the story of the development of modern Kobe and Japan's modernization.
