NIGHT VIEW
Along with Mt. Hakodate in Hokkaido and Mt. Inasa in Nagasaki,
Kikuseidai is a greatly appreciated night view spot in Japan.
We will show you the breathtakingly beautiful scenery,
known as the ten-million-dollar night view!
From the Kikuseidai Observation Platform, located at an altitude of 700m, you can enjoy the night views of Kobe and Osaka and the Kii Peninsula and Awaji Island on the other side.
The name Kikuseidai means a place where the beautiful night sky is close enough to grab a fistful of stars. The night view decorated with the starry sky is absolutely stunning.
The Maya Twinkle Little Road (Maya Kirakira Komachi) is about a 40m walking path paved with fluorescent materials that emit blue light, creating a surreal atmosphere. Its motif is the milky way, and therefore the constellations appear on it. “Maya Stone,” a fluorescent material used to build the road, is available to purchase at Hoshino Eki Station.
The window and terrace seats at CAFE 702, located on the 2nd floor of Hoshinoeki station, are the best seats for appreciating the night view.
In winter, CAFE 702 specially prepares “Kotatsu,” a Japanese heated table. Indulge yourself with an incredibly beautiful night view in a warm Kotatsu!
(Service available from September to March / The time varies depending on the temperature.)
In 2008, the city of Kobe selected Kikuseidai Observation Platform as one of the "10 Best Viewpoints of Kobe" by soliciting spots with the charm of Kobe from Kobe residents. It is a scenic spot in Kobe that locals love.
